December to March is the strongest fit for a south/west romantic finish, especially Tangalle, Galle/Koggala, Mirissa or Weligama depending the couple.

April can work well, but New Year dates need careful resort choice and transfer planning.

May to September should usually move the beach finish eastward to Trincomalee, Nilaveli, Passikudah or a quieter east-coast resort pairing.
Avoid
October and November need flexible expectations, stronger hotel contingency plans and fewer hard promises around beach weather.

- For 8 or 9 days, remove either the safari or the Sigiriya extension, not the final coast recovery time.
- For a very slow honeymoon, use fewer bases: airport manor, tea country and coast.
- For a culture-light honeymoon, swap Sigiriya for Galle and keep the route southern and hill-country focused.
If you have more time
- Add Galle Fort before the final beach stay for heritage, galleries and restaurants.
- Add a second tea-country night for spa, estate walks and private dining.
